Scrap Metal Thieves Arrested
Two men are behind bars, arrested in connection with at least ten thefts of scrap metal from a Colorado Springs business.
At 12:30 yesterday afternoon Colorado Springs police searched an apartment at the Mountain Country Estates and arrested Jeffrey Baker and James Bernebei. They face felony charges of theft and conspiracy to commit theft.
Officers also arrested Brett Harris for resisting arrest.
As of April first police say thieves have taken a little more than $300,000 worth of metal.
