Man Arrested After Car, Foot Chase

A man faces several charges after leading police on a short chase.

Colorado Springs police say officers responded to a disturbance call at the Sonic on Platte and Chelton just after 8 p.m. A car was leaving the parking lot and officers tried to stop it. They say Shawn Jones, 26, took off, but ended up turning down a dead end road. Jones jumped out of the car and there was a short foot chase.

Police told Jones to stop, but he refused so officers used a taser on him as he was trying to jump over a fence. That’s when Jones surrendered.

He was arrested on suspicion of eluding and other traffic charges, as well as drug-related charges.
