Roche Dr Standoff Ends Without Arrest
In an unusual development, a Tuesday night standoff ended without an arrest on the north-east side of Colorado Springs.
Earlier, a man had barricaded himself inside a home on the 2900 block of Roche Drive.
The standoff began just after 9:00pm, after police were called out to investigate reports of a domestic dispute.
When they arrived at the home, a man answered the door holding a shotgun.
He promptly went back inside, locking the door behind him.
A family member told police that there are several weapons inside the home in addition to the shotgun.
Police pulled up stakes about 10:30, after determining that the man was not a danger to his neighbors.
An officer at the Stetson Hills substation tells NewsChannel 13 that an arrest warrant will be issued for failure to comply.
The incident marked the second standoff for police, just hours apart on Tuesday.
Earlier in the evening, police were in Old Colorado City to arrest a man on an outstanding warrant. He was apprehended, but not before a two-hour ordeal that ended with tear gas and a tussle with police K9s.
