Colo. Springs Police Aid In Out-Of-State Homicide
Police investigated a home on Simmelink Loop Wednesday night.
KRDO Newschannel13 has confirmed police were aiding an out-of-state agency in a homicide investigation and two people were arrested.
Colorado Springs Police say they were asked by the Phoenix, Arizona Homicide Unit to assist them with an ongoing investigation into a homicide that occurred in Arizona. They believed the suspect(s) had fled to Colorado Springs.
Arizona authorities in conjunction with the Fountain Police Department and CSPD worked to locate the suspect(s) involved. Their efforts led to the arrest of an adult and a juvenile on Simmelink Loop. According to Arizona Police, no further suspects are believed to be involved in their murder investigation.
Late Wednesday night other news media said the incident was related to the kidnapping and homicide investigation of Jeremy Naranjo, 21, but KRDO Newschannel 13 has confirmed that is not the case.
A Newschannel 13 viewer tells us that the apparent raid began with a loud explosion, and a rush of police activity. She also reports that there was an ambulance and a firetruck at the home.
Police could be seen coming in and out of the home for a period, before wrapping up the scene just after 10:00pm.
