Plane Makes Emergency Landing In Colorado Springs

A commercial flight headed to Grand Junction landed safely in Colorado Springs after a smoke alarm went off in the baggage compartment.

Officials say 33 people, including pilots and crew, were on board the Express Jet Airlines aircraft that landed Wednesday morning after taking off from Houston.

Firefighters said they found no signs of smoke or fire.

The flight was operated by Express Jet for United Airlines and the airplane is an Embraer 145.
