Illegal Drug Dispensary Operation Busted
A traffic stop led to the shut down of an extensive dispensary operation and the arrest of two individuals.
On Dec. 28, COMMIT officers pulled over a vehicle with three juveniles inside. Officers learned that the juveniles had just purchased marijuana from an apartment without a Colorado Medical Marijuana Registry Certificate.
The officers obtained a search warrant for the apartment and, with the help of Metro VNI detectives, discovered an unlicensed medical marijuana dispensary operating out of one of the two bedrooms in the apartment.
The dispensary operation was extensive and included a cash register, credit card machine, a functioning camera system with multiple cameras and a display case with marijuana and paraphernalia for sale. Several firearms, marijuana, cocaine, psilocybin mushrooms and prescription pills were also located.
Officers identified and obtained a search warrant for a second location which was used for cultivating the marijuana being sold in the apartment. The grow operation was unlicensed and the owners did not have current Colorado Medical Marijuana Registry Certificates. Additional marijuana and several firearms were located and seized.
During the course of this investigation, the following items were located and seized:
1. Approximately 13 pounds of marijuana 2. 198 marijuana plants 3. Approximately 34.4 grams of cocaine 4. Approximately 7.2 grams of psilocybin mushrooms 5. 68.5 prescription pills 6. 27 firearms 7. 1 ballistic vests 28-year-olds Peter Mattaroo and Kristine Bauer were arrested during the investigation. Arrests are pending for two other people involved in this incident.
