Gloomy Outlook For Female Business Owners
Top House Democrat Nancy Pelosi and a Denver congresswoman heard a gloomy economic outlook from female business owners.
Pelosi and U.S. Rep. Diana DeGette took notes from female business owners sharing their ideas about expanding the economy. The businesswomen told the Democrats during the hour-long forum that they are hampered by confusing regulations.
Pelosi and DeGette say burdensome regulations should be looked at. DeGette won applause from about 200 invited guests in the audience when she said tax reductions should be aimed at small businesses, not large corporations.
Pelosi says Democrats would push for efforts to boost American manufacturing this fall.
After the meeting, Pelosi was headed to Boulder for a private fundraiser with Democratic Rep. Jared Polis. Attendees were paying $250 and up to attend that evening reception.
