Fair On Track For Record Attendance
The Colorado State Fair is seeing big crowds so far, even better than last year when the 11-day fair had record attendance of over 517,000 people.
Fair organizers said 142,870 people walked through the gates in the first three days of the event.
“If this trend were to continue, we’d probably beat last year’s numbers,” said Chris Wiseman, manager of the Colorado State Fair.
Compared to 2010, attendance is up by more than 12,000 for the first three days.
“We’ve had an increase in attendance every day (compared to last year), and I hope that trend continues,” said Wiseman. “There’s still a lot of fair left.”
The fair is expected to generate $29 million for the Colorado economy.
Some of the big-name entertainers you can still catch at the fair are Martina McBride on Sept. 1, The Beach Boys on Sept. 2 and Los Lobos on Sept. 4. Selena Gomez is also performing, but that show is sold out.
