Woman Killed In Mall Accident Remembered
An 82-year-old woman killed in an accident at Chapel Hills Mall is remembered.
Police say Elinor Granzow was walking with her husband outside Dillards when she was hit by an SUV and pinned under the vehicle.
Elinor died. Her husband, Ken Granzow, had minor injuries. He was transported to the hospital and released.
On Saturday, a memorial service was held for Elinor at Pulpit Rock Church in Colorado Springs.
Elinor was remembered as a mother, grandmother and wife. Many of those in attendance also raved about her baking and her homemade bread.
“All of these people are celebrating Elinor’s life,” said friend Dick Houston. But many are still struggling with how her life ended so suddenly.
The pastor leading the service said, “It is a question everyone of us has asked since Elinor’s sudden and shocking death on Tuesday afternoon. Why?”
Some of her children and grandchildren shared stores during the memorial.
Police are still investigating her death. They have conflicting reports and are reviewing videotape of the parking lot.
The vehicle that hit Elinor was empty at the time. Police said charges could be filed against the owners.
