Dogs Leap From Docks At State Fair

Dogs in Pueblo sure know how to beat the summer hear. Its all happening at the State Fair.

Several dogs from around the state are competing in the Dock Dogs Competition.

Dock Dogs is a national organization that sponsors dock jumping for dogs and promotes sportsmanship.

There are three different type of categories a dog can participate in — long jump, high jump and speed. The highest scoring dogs out of all three can compete in another round called Iron Dog.

It wasn?t just the dogs having all the fun competing.

?We love it because its just a great time to spend time with your dogs, and really create the bond between your dog and dogs love it. They have fun,? said Yvette Montiel with the Rocky Mountain Dock Dogs.

There will be more dock jumping throughout the fair.

The grand prize for the pups is a ribbon and bragging rights.
