Cellphone Saves Woman From Stray Bullet
Colorado Springs police said a woman was saved by her cellphone after being hit by a stray bullet Friday night.
The woman was standing outside the Southpointe Apartments on the 3900 block of Lakeshore Drive around 11 p.m., when a gunman fired a round, hitting her pants pocket and striking her cell phone, according to police
Police said the woman was not hurt.
Police said another round was fired, traveling through an apartment. One man inside the apartment said the bullet flew over his head and hit the wall behind him, according to authorities.
Investigators found several shell casing around the apartment complex. Officials said about 10 rounds were fired.
Officials said witnesses reported the gunshots may have come from a sedan that was traveling past the apartment complex on Jetwing Drive.
Police said they had no suspects as of Saturday.
