Small Fire Burns South Of Caon City
The Caon City Fire Department and a crew from the Bureau of Land Management working at a small fire burning south of the city.
The fire is burning in rugged terrain south of the Dawson Ranch Subdivision, according to Canon City firefighters.
Firefighters say the fire is estimated at one acre or less. They also say no buildings are threatened and there are no evacuations.
Canon City firefighters were called to the fire initially, but are no longer working at the fire as BLM crews have taken over, said a spokesman from the Canon City Fire Department.
BLM crews are getting the upper hand on the fire, said the Canon City Fire Department spokesman.
