Road Rage: Motive In Shooting Deaths Of 3 Teens
Police announce road rage as the motive in the shooting deaths of three Colorado Springs teens on July 23.
Bob Atkins, Wayne and Aaron Fix’s grandfather, said he is relieved that there is no longer talk of his grandsons being linked to gangs or drug deals as a possible motive.
“Road rage is really not something that surprises me, because it’s the only thing that makes sense,” said Atkins.
The third teen to die of his injuries from the shooting was Austin Howse.
Michael Arangio was suspected of the shootings by police. Arangio committed suicide by shooting himself before police arrested him.
Atkins wanted to send a special message to Arangio’s family:
“We hold no ill will towards you we appreciate very much you had the courage to come forward to work with the police department to bring this to an end. It was not an easy thing for you to do. By contacting the police it was like signing your son’s death warrant and we’re sorry for your loss and we just ask God be with all of us to help us heal.”
