Robert Bruce Case In Hands Of Jury
A Pueblo County jury has begun deliberating in the attempted murder case of Robert Bruce who is accused of trying to kill Pueblo Police Officer Nathan Pruce.
Closing arguments by the defense and prosecution took place Tuesday morning in court in Pueblo.
Bruce is charged with attempted murder. Pueblo Sheriff’s deputies say he rigged a propane tank to blow up the home of Pueblo Police Officer Nathan Pruce at his home in Pueblo West in October 2009.
Officer Pruce was supposed to testify against Bruce that day in a peeping tom case, deputies said. Prosecutors allege Bruce wanted to stop Pruce from testifying because if he was convicted it could lead to the discovery of additional crimes.
DNA evidence later linked Bruce to several rapes in Pueblo and at least three other states, according to prosecutors. Bruce has not been tried in any of those cases.
We will let you know as soon as a verdict comes in.
