Anders Nelson – Meteorologist

I have lived in Colorado since 1991 and have always enjoyed how the weather changes so quickly. During my time in college at the University of Northern Colorado I studied communications and media studies, and knew that weather was where I should be, and am currently working on finishing my meteorology degree. I got my start in Cheyenne, Wyoming at KGWN channel 5 as the weekend weather and weekday reporter in June 2009 after graduation, and I quickly moved up to weekday morning weather position in August. Living in Colorado for most of my life and forecasting for the area I know how tricky it can be and love having that challenge everyday. Weather has always been a passion for my family and I am proud to say that I am following in the foot steps of my father, Mike Nelson who is the Chief Meteorologist of our sister station in Denver, Channel 7. I know how important weather is to the people of Colorado and I am excited to work with the best meteorologists in southern Colo!rado to bring you the most accurate forecast possible.I have moved into the weekend morning weather position and am excited to be part of the STORMTRACKER 13 team. I love being able to make it to the mountains for those fresh powder days and snowboarding with my family. My wife (Katie) and I have always wanted to stay in Colorado because we could not dream about living in a place that was more amazing than this.
