Recommendation For Doug Bruce To Be Censored
DENVER – A panel of state legislators has recommended that Colorado Springs Republican Representative Douglas Bruce be censured, and that he be required to apologize for kicking a newspaper photographer. The recommendation goes to House Speaker Andrew Romanoff, who will make the final decision.
Bruce kicked a Rocky Mountain News photographer on Monday during a prayer on the floor of the House. He said the photographer goaded him and was at fault for creating a disruption. He also denied that what he did was a kick, saying he gently pushed the photographer way with his foot. Bruce told lawmakers today he was trying to preserve “order and decorum” in the House.
