Bruce To Get No Punishment For Controversial Remarks
DENVER – It’s being reported that Doug Bruce won’t be facing any punishment for his comments Monday, calling migrant workers “illiterate peasants.” Despite being asked to leave moments after making the remarks during debate over a bill allowing immigrant workers to get temporary visas, the House is not taking disciplinary action against him.
TheAnti-Defamation League’s Mountain States Regional Director Bruce H. DeBoskey issued the followingstatement about Bruce’s comments Tuesday:
This is the second time this year Bruce has been in hot water due to his actions. In January, hewas censured after kicking a photographer during the opening prayer. Bruceplayed the situation down and called the photographer’sbehavior ‘deplorable,’ referring tothe taking of his picture during the prayer. However, this time, Bruce has escaped being censured.
