The Air Force hockey team is excited about the outdoor game

The transformation of turning Falcon Stadium from a football field to an outdoor hockey rink is coming along, as a Thunderbird jet is already in place on the south side of Falcon Stadium, "Monday is going to be kind of a surreal experience having never played in an outdoor game," says Air Force senior, Trevor Stone.

It will be a new experience for the fly guys as they will make history playing in the first outdoor college game ever to be played on the campus of Air Force, "Just the backdrop it's an awesome stadium to watch a football game in, with the mountains in the background for it to be in the winter time playing hockey out there it's going to look really good," says Air Force senior, Brady Tomlak, "It's a historic game in our community. I talked to Havi this morning about it. This series is all about the Pikes Peak trophy. It's all about the Pikes Peak trophy but that game on Monday is bigger than even that," says Frank Serratore, "The seniors are part of two championship teams that was by far the coolest experience but this might next top experience after winning those championships," says Stone.

What adds to unique experience of playing outdoors is that it will take the players back to made them fall in love with hockey in the first place, "I had a pond right next to my house so whenever I would get cold enough I would go out there as a little kid and my mom would bring out some hot chocolate and my dad would go out there and should on it for a little bit," says Stone. "Just being outdoors it takes you back to the true nature of the game. This is where I fell in love with the game was outdoors on the pond with my friends. We think going forward hopefully within the city this will increase hockey overall," says Tomlak
