Rocky Mountain Vibes could lose Major League Baseball affiliation
We all love Toasty right? There's a chance we could lose our beloved Toasty.
The New York Times is reporting that Major League Baseball is proposing a major overhaul to minor league baseball. It would cut Major League Baseball affiliation with 42 teams in the minors.
The New York Times listed the 42 teams that would lose their affiliation and the Rocky Mountain Vibes were on the list. The Vibes are currently affiliated with the Milwaukee Brewers.
KRDO Newschannel 13 Sports Director Rob Namnoum spoke with Vibes general manager Chris Phillips on Tuesday night and he says the Vibes are incredibly upset. Phillips says if this initial proposal goes through it would be a travesty and that it would rip the heart out of Minor League Baseball.
The Vibes are already receiving congressional support from congressmen Scott Tipton and Doug Lamborn.
If the proposal goes through the Vibes would no longer play baseball starting in the summer of 2021.
