Rescued bears find new home in Colorado

13 bears that People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) says were neglected by their owners in Ohio have been moved to an animal sanctuary in Northern Colorado.

PETA says that the bears were rescued after the Ohio Dangerous Wild Animal Act went into effect. The law regulates ownership of certain animals in the state.

The organization says the bears were surrendered from backyard cages and roadside zoos because their owners failed to comply with the new law.

The animals were taken to The Wild Animal Sanctuary in Keenesburg, which is located off of I-76 about 40 miles northeast of Denver.
