Fountain residents get good news on water contamination
Residents in Fountain got some good news on Wednesday night regarding the current water crisis.
During the town hall utilities meeting, officials addressed concerns about the PFC levels in the city’s wells.
Fountain utilities told residents that SDS water is now coming in sufficient volume and that the town is no longer using ground water.
“It’s important for us to share with our customers that we’re working on plans for our future to address contamination and come up with treatments for our wells,” said Curtis Mitchell, director of Fountain Utilities.
Mitchell added that an intermediate water solution should be in place by summer of 2017 and there is a two-year plan for the long term fix, which will actually remove the PFC contaminants.
