Blue Mountain Ranch owner playing the waiting game, hoping the 403 fire does not impact camps this Summer

PARK COUNTY, Colo. (KRDO)--Campers from all across Colorado come to Blue Mountain Ranch for summer camp.

However, as the 403 fire continues to grow, the owner of Blue Mountain Ranch, Tim Graf, continues to worry that the fire could potentially destroy the campgrounds.

"So, that fear... is just a lot to comprehend right now," said Graf.

Tim told KRDO that they were told to evacuate Blue Mountain ranch Thursday. Graf and his family were able to go down to the camp to collect all their historical memorabilia that can't be replaced if the fire reaches the area.

"We have pictures going all the way back to, you know, 1946 from when my grandparents were around, you know, and just other knickknacks. So we gathered all those," said Tim Graf.

Blue Mountain Ranch has been around since 1946. It has been in the Graf/Allen family from the very beginning.

Graf said his parents went back Friday morning to collect more things they have left behind.

But Graf tells us some history just can't be replaced and that's what worries him the most. The beaver lodge was built by their first group of campers and is a building that still stands to this day. It's a building they hope does not get destroyed.
