450 EVRAZ workers temporarily out of work in Pueblo
A temporary work stoppage at the EVRAZ steel mill in Pueblo will impact about 450 workers, according to our partners at The Pueblo Chieftain.
The company says the move is necessary because orders for rail and steel making are down.
EVRAZ says the idling will begin on March 19 and March 26 respectively, and will last two to three weeks.
Earlier this month, EVRAZ announced it is indefinitely closing its seamless pipe unit because of the decline in U.S. oil drilling.
The plant’s rod-and-bar mill will continue to operate.
