Pueblo Police volunteers recognized
Forty volunteers who help the Pueblo Police Department are being praised for their hard work.
The department said the volunteers are indispensable.
They help with the police department’s data entry and warrant phone calls.
The volunteers work anywhere from a few hours every week, up to the volunteer of the year who worked more than 1,000 hours last year.
Tom Janoski and Ilene Wright were both recognized as volunteer of the year.
“There’s so many volunteers that do so many things in this division, and I just didn’t consider myself any more important than anyone else,” said Wright.
The volunteers worked a total of more than 5,000 hours, which would equal $136,000 worth of work.
