Police: Driver, multiple passengers run from stolen car after multi-vehicle crash

A crash involving multiple vehicles blocked a stretch of Union Blvd. in Colorado Springs Monday night.

The crash happened during the 7-o’clock hour in the 1700 block of N. Union Blvd.

Police say officers were chasing a car that had been reported stolen prior to the crash happening, but that they decided to stop the chase because of safety concerns.

The car that was being chased crashed a short time later.

Police say the driver of the car ran from the scene and has not been found. Multiple passengers were also seen running from the car.

Two passengers were detained, one of whom was arrested on unrelated charges.
