Vehicle slams through fence in Colorado Springs crash

The Colorado Springs Fire Department says a vehicle crashed through a fence and into a backyard Thursday evening.

The crash happened at around 6:20 p.m. at the intersection of Union Ave. and Downhill Dr. near N. Union Blvd. and Dublin Blvd. on the northeast side of town.

CSPD says the driver lost control and rolled the vehicle.

Northbound Union was closed for about 30 minutes, at Downhill, because of the crash.

No one in the home was hurt, but the driver did sustain serious injuries. The person was taken to the hospital, but is expected to survive.

The crash remains under investigation.
