CSU-Pueblo recruiter has ties to deadly earthquake

A CSU-Pueblo recruiter has connections to the massive earthquake that killed more than 200 people in parts of south Asia Monday.

M. Talha Qureshi said he lived in Pakistan near where the earthquake happened.

He said he hasn’t lost any friends or family so far and his home in Pakistan is in danger of being lost to the earthquake.

He said he has been through a disaster similar to the one that happened Monday when he lived in Pakistan.

“It was really a shaking earthquake. I had to hold my mother’s hand. I just had to run down a three-story building and I remember that was the nightmare because we didn’t know if we could make it down the three story building,” Qureshi said.

He said he is going to start a fundraiser to send money and supplies to those affected by the earthquake.
