UPDATE: Colorado Springs High School student investigated for having gun
A Mitchell High School student is suspended and could be expelled after being found with a gun Wednesday.
Colorado Springs School District 11 says it doesn’t know whether the gun was ever on campus.
Another student reported seeing a classmate with a holstered gun off campus just before 8 a.m.
The student who had the gun was arrested and suspended.
The 15-year-old’s name hasn’t been released. He faces a charge for possession of a firearm by a juvenile. He’ll spend at least the next five days in a youth detention facility.
D-11 has a zero tolerance policy and the student faces a disciplinary hearing which could result in expulsion.
