Heavy Rain, Flooding Possible
Tonight: Scattered showers and thunderstorms will move east this evening and gradually weaken over the plains, but spotty showers may continue over the plains for much of the night. By morning we expect a partly to mostly cloudy sky with temperatures in the 60s for most areas on the plains, but the high mountain valleys and mountain communities will cool into the 40s and 50s.
Extended: Monday will bring another round of numerous showers and thunderstorms capable of producing localized heavy rain to parts of the area, likely focused along and south of the Arkansas River, but storms are possible anywhere. Tuesday could be a bit warmer with showers and thunderstorms becoming spottier in nature, but another cold front looks to arrive by Wednesday increasing the coverage and intensity of thunderstorms again as well as cooling the air for the rest of the week.
