Storm from north to drop temps in eastern Colorado

A powerful storm moving in from the north is expected to bring snow and frigid weather to eastern Colorado this week.

Denver is expected to reach a high of around 50 degrees at noon on Monday. From there, the temperature is expected to plunge as the remnants of Typhoon Nuri spreads into the state.

The National Weather Service says snowfall of up to 2 inches is possible by midnight in Denver and the rest of northeastern Colorado. There’s a better chance for more snow on Tuesday, when temperatures should drop into the teens. The frigid temperatures, about 20 to 30 degrees below normal, are expected to remain through Thursday.

Strong winds and light snow are forecast for Colorado’s northern and central mountains but southwestern Colorado is expected to remain warm.
