CSPD: Woman assaults officer, arrested

A woman involved in a physical disturbance in Colorado Springs was arrested Wednesday (6/25/14) after police say she assaulted an officer.

Police were called to the 6400 block of N. Academy Blvd. around 8:30 p.m. for a physical disturbance between a man and a woman. Police say 35-year-old Edwina Willden assaulted a man before police arrived. After the first officer arrived, they say the woman became uncooperative and assaulted the officer.

Willden was arrested on a felony charge of Second Degree Assault on a Peace Officer and misdemeanor charges of Unlawful Sexual Contact, Third Degree Assault and Harassment.

The officer who police say was assaulted did not require medical treatment.
