Colorado’s edible pot review continues
A proposal aimed at getting marijuana consumers in Colorado to eat less pot is under review Wednesday by a panel of industry representatives and health officials.
Colorado’s edible pot work group has been meeting since last month to try to find ways to prevent pot consumers from eating too much pot. The group is also considering new rules to make it less likely that children accidentally consume food and drinks infused with marijuana.
Edible marijuana products are increasingly popular in Colorado. But the popularity of marijuana-infused cookies and sodas has raised concerns about overconsumption and accidental ingestion by kids.
A rough draft of Colorado’s proposal would require each “dose” of cannabis-infused products to be individually wrapped and marked with a symbol to indicate the item contains pot.
