Teen arrested in Walsenburg school threat investigation
Walsenburg Police say a 16-year-old has been arrested in connection to an alleged threat against John Mall High School. The teen is a former student there.
Huerfano School District RE-1 says that while the threat is not considered imminent, it is implementing a modified lockout for weekend practices and other approved student meetings at the school.
The Huerfano County school district says it has assembled an emergency response team of school district staff who are working with law enforcement to stay up to date on the case and whether any additional safety precautions might be necessary.
No additional information about the person who was arrested or the nature of the alleged threat have been released.
