Fire Collapses Building Roof, CSFD Investigates

Firefighters are investigating the cause of a fire they spent most of early Thursday morning working to take out.

Firefighters tweeted the fire started at an abandoned apartment building around one this morning (11/28/13), and it wasn’t contained until about 3a.m.

The abandoned building is in the 300 block of East Cucharras Street.

Firefighters said the body of the fire was in the attic of the building. They said heavy flames tore through the roof. It collapsed, causing even more flames to spark.

No one was hurt.

We’ll keep you updated on the fire’s cause as more information comes in.
