Burst pipe forces middle school to close for second day
Russell Middle School will be closed again Tuesday (11/26/13) as work continues to repair a burst pipe that cut off the school’s supply of heat.
School was dismissed shortly after starting Monday morning. Colorado Springs School District 11 sent a message out saying that students who ride the bus would be transported home, and that parents who take their kids to school should come back and pick them up.
The pipe that burst apparently supplies the schools boiler system and disrupted the heat supply to the school.
Late Monday, D-11 tweeted that Russell would be closed for a second day because of the extensive repairs that need to be done.
