Ex-roommate says kidnapping suspect pawned jewelry

The former roommate of a man accused of briefly kidnapping a Colorado girl says he stole property from her and staged a burglary to cover it up.

John Snorsky was in court Monday to face charges of theft and false reporting in the case.

The Denver Post reported that the roommate, Linda Taylor, told police that $14,000 in cash was taken in September along with $43,000 in jewelry, rare coins and original paintings. Snorsky, who is on parole, denied any involvement then.

Last week police showed her photos of items Snorsky allegedly sold to pawn shops. She identified them as hers, leading to his arrest.

While in jail, police also linked him to the attempted abduction but they haven’t said how he became a suspect.
