Columbia Sportswear Company announces voluntary recall
Columbia Sportswear Company, recently learned that a small number of its 2012 Columbia heated jackets may contain a heated inner wrist cuff component with a manufacturing flaw that may cause an electrical short to occur, giving rise to a potential burn risk. Columbia has received no reports of any injuries associated with this issue.
The products subject to this recall
The 2012 heated jackets affected by this issue were sold in Columbia retail stores and other specialist outdoor clothing retailers between May 2012 and January 2013.
The following seven jacket models are subject to this recall:
HM7198 Mens Omni Heat™ Electric Big Game™ Interchange SL7021 Womens Electro AMP™ Jacket SL7022 Womens Circuit Breaker™ II Jacket SL7885 Womens Electro™ Interchange Jacket SM7051 Mens Circuit Breaker™ II Jacket SM7061 Mens Electro AMP™ Jacket SM7886 Mens Electro™ Interchange Jacket
The style number of a jacket can be found on both the large white care label and the small white security tag sewn into the left inside seam of the jacket.

This recall does not apply to any other Columbia products. In particular, please note that 2011 Columbia electric heated jackets do not contain the same heated sleeve cuff component and are not affected by this recall. Columbia electric heated vests, boots and gloves are not affected by this recall.
