Police: Man shot in Colorado Springs late Sunday night
Colorado Springs police are investigation a late night shooting near the 7/11 on E. Pikes Peak Avenue.
Police tell us they responded to the 7/11 shortly before midnight for a call about a gunshot victim. When they arrived, they found a man with a gunshot wound to his leg near Woody’s Bar and Grill.
Police say it appears the man was in a car that pulled up next to another car at the 7/11. Police say the man’s car started rolling backwards and he jumped out of the moving car and began running from the parking lot. The person in the other car, fired several rounds at the man as he ran from the area. That’s when he got hit in the leg.
Police say the man was taken to Memorial Hospital and he is expected to recover from his injuries.
