School Drops Grade Levels

An Indiana school district ditches grade levels and leaves scheduling study time up to students.

It’s called mass customized learning. Students will still have to meet state standards, but will be encouraged to move up as soon as they’re ready.

Pilot classes begin next fall. If all goes well, the school will implement the system for everyone in the 2013-2014 school year.
