Update: Man Tries To Get Into Burger King Register

Colorado Springs Police say employees were shaken up after an attempted theft at a Burger King near downtown.

It happened around 8:20 at the Burger King at Platte and Union.

Police said workers told them that a man ordered a small meal and then hung around the restaurant for hours acting strangely. They said he eventually went to up to a register, became aggressive, and tried to open it.

Police said he was unsuccessful and didn’t do any damage or hurt anyone, but some workers were scared and hid the in the back freezer during the theft attempt.

The man was arrested on suspicion of attempted theft.
