Red Cross Responds To Tornadoes
The Pikes Peak Chapter of the American Red Cross has been helping the families of communities of Prowers County with disaster assistance.
A Red Cross spokesperson, Catherine Barde, says that volunteers will be assisting the communities with shelter, food, and comfort kits. A Red Cross Mobile Vehicle will be sent to provide emergency responders in Prowers Co. with food and snacks.
As of Friday night, the mobile mercy mission will end. Barde tells me, the until will drive back to Colorado Springs. The Red Cross will help those displaced on a case by case basis over the next few days. Those folks can contact the Red Cross directly, to talk about what they need from the organization.
The Red Cross reminds everyone to take proactive preparedness steps to ensure the safety of individuals and families.
