Wal-Mart Reopen After Bomb Scare
A scare at a Wal-Mart in the Springs last night.
At 6 p.m. Saturday Colorado Springs police received a bomb threat at the Wal-Mart on East Platte Avenue. Someone called the store to say there was a bomb inside. Wal-Mart evacuated the store then called the police. An explosives K-9 searched the building, and his handler requested additional resources so the Peterson Air Force Base Canine Unit sent five explosives canines and eight Security forces personnel to the scene, which officers say dramatically cut down on the length of time to search the entire building.
The Units did not find anything suspicious. The store was deemed safe at 9:45 p.m.
