Mother Of Rescued Toddler Arrested
The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office arrested the mother of 3-year-old boy found wandering near Interstate 25 Saturday.
Nyesha Hall-Gonzalez, 28, will remain in jail unless she posts $50,000 bail. Hall-Gonzalez was arrested on Attempted First Degree Murder and Child Abuse Charges.
Deputies said a search for the boy along I-25 near the El Paso-Pueblo County line around 10:30 a.m.
A Colorado State Trooper informed deputies that they had seen Hall-Gonzalez earlier Saturday morning with a toddler. Deputies questioned the woman about the child, but she did not cooperate, according to El Paso County Officials.
Search and rescue teams were called in to search fields along the Interstate and the boy was found just after 1 p.m.
The boy was taken to the hospital but his condition was not released by the sheriff’s office.
