New Feature On Vail Mobile App
Vail Resorts Inc. is adding photo features to its free EpicMix online and mobile application.
EpicMix uses scanners on lifts at Vail Resorts’ six resorts in Colorado and California to read chips embedded on visitors’ ski passes to track how many vertical feet a visitor has ridden. Visitors who opt in can earn digital pins for things like visiting certain lifts and have EpicMix post automatic status updates of their accomplishments on Facebook or Twitter.
The new EpicMix also lets users who want to have photos of themselves snapped by resort photographers to have their passes scanned, and then they’ll be sent low-resolution copies of those images to share online for free. They can buy high-resolution versions for $19.99 apiece.
The new features are set to launch in December.
