Thieves Target Teens’ Memorial
A makeshift memorial put up for three teen gunned down on July 27 has been vandalized.
Family members said thieves have stolen pictures of Aaron and Wayne Fix.
Judy Hernandez, Great Aunt of Aaron and Wayne, said she doesn’t understand why someone would steal from the site. “It’s very disrespectful. It takes a twisted person to take things we’ve left in their honor,” she said.
She first noticed the pictures were missing on Saturday. She put up new pictures of her nephews on Sunday afternoon.
“We’ll keep replacing them,” said Hernandez.
Photos of the other victim, Austin Howse have not been removed.
The three teens were gunned down as they sat in a vehicle parked on Mira Loma Circle.
Two died on scene, a third teen died on the way to the hospital.
Michael Arangio, 24, was the suspect in the case. On Saturday, he was involved in a five hour long standoff with police.
Police said negotiators talked with Arangio before shooting several rounds of tear gas into the apartment.
The bomb squad eventually sent in its robot, and found Arangio had shot himself.
