City of Pueblo receives national planning grant and technical assistance
PUEBLO, Colo. (KRDO) -- The City of Pueblo was awarded the CityStart Grant Award Monday, designed to help develop strategies to financially empower residents during and beyond the pandemic.
This grant, from the Cities of Financial Empowerment Fund with support from JPMorgan Chase & Co, offers local leaders a structured approach to identify financial empowerment goals, convene stakeholders for sustainable success, and to craft an actionable blueprint rooted in local priorities.
“These are unprecedented times, and we clearly need a plan to support our local businesses if we are going to economically recover from this pandemic. Beyond mitigation, much more work will need to be done to help residents rebound and rebuild. Financial empowerment strategies hold great promise as part of that work. Collaborations such as this with CFE and CityStart are how we accomplish this.” said Mayor Nick Gradisar.
The City of Pueblo will receive $25,000 along with a six-month technical assistance engagement partnership.
Pueblo is one of five local governments receiving the grant. Other areas include Hennepin County, MN; Jackson, TN; Montgomery, AL; and Tempe, AZ.
