Police identify man killed in hit-and-run at Colorado Springs 7-Eleven
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- The Colorado Springs Police Department identified the man who was killed after being hit by a driver in the parking lot of a 7-Eleven on S. Circle Drive last month.
The incident happened on Sept. 20, and witnesses told KRDO the driver got in an argument with another person before pulling out a gun and ultimately hitting the victim. The victim was reportedly a friend of one of the men involved in the argument with the driver.
"An argument ensued about how I made him lose his job because he was messed up on drugs," a witness, Christopher Kittridge, told us. "So he pulled a gun, and my friends came out to help me, and one of my friends got run over."
Police identified the victim as 53-year-old Michael Dean Strong. An obituary for Strong says he's a Colorado Springs native.
The driver hasn't been identified at this time, but police say the victim was intentionally struck. CSPD is investigating the death as a homicide.
Police are asking for more witnesses to contact investigators at 719-444-7000.
