CASTLE ROCK, Colo. (KRDO) -- The Castle Rock Fire Department says it responded Monday afternoon to a blaze that devastated the home of a police officer.

The house fire happened in Founders Village on the southeast side of the city. Firefighters say the house belonged to Officer Luke Godfrey with the Castle Rock Police Department.

Godfrey was inside the home with his wife and three children when the fire started, but the family was evacuated safely, according to the fire department's spokesperson.

The Castle Rock Police Officers Foundation has set up an online donation form for Officer Godfrey and his family.

People can also donate by mail at PO Box 1221, Castle Rock, CO 80104, or in person at the Castle Rock Police Department, Attention: Officer Elliott.
