Crews trying to recover body from waters at Chatfield State Park
CHATFIELD STATE PARK, Colo. (KRDO) -- Divers with South Metro Fire Rescue are working to recover a body from the reservoir at Chatfield State Park.
Colorado Parks and Wildlife and SMFR were first notified of a missing person report at 3:22 p.m. on Friday.
A rescue team initially went out to search for the missing person, but eventually had to be rescued by other personnel after their boat capsized in the gusty thunderstorm winds.
SMFR says all personnel were safely pulled from the water and were not injured. However, officials are now saying that "the search for the missing person has changed from a rescue to a recovery."
Update - All personnel have been safely pulled from the water and are not injured. They will be evaluated by paramedics as a precaution. Sadly, the search for the missing person has changed from a rescue to a recovery. pic.twitter.com/64nr3HN3SS
