Austin Ekeler and the Chargers will workout at the Air Force Academy this week
Their is no one on the Chargers who is happier to be working out at the Air Force Academy this week than Austin Ekeler, "I just miss Colorado and just the open space, where we are in California it's just roads and parking lots and buildings. It's good to see the mountains always, just the open land and natural trees," says Austin Ekeler. Los Angeles is a different world compared to the world Ekeler grew up in Eaton, Colorado. A town with a little more than four thousand people. He is an inspiration to many kids playing football in our state, "You get people that are like DM me or reach out to my family and talk about cuz there's not a lot of recruits that come out of Colorado. It's not like a football state. You see like maybe Florida, Texas, California and so especially coming from a small town," says Ekeler. He says he will never forget his small town roots, "I think its cool for people to see someone that they knew from a small town to go and accomplish things that maybe seem extraordinary. Just for me I think it's pretty special and I never take it for granted just knowing I came from a small town and just kept building and building," says Ekler.
